Steve is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Kinderhook Partners, an investment firm founded in 2003 that makes long-term investments in public and private companies around the world and is one of the most active institutional investors in search funds.

Before Kinderhook, Steve founded Geocapital Partners in 1984 and built it into a venture capital firm managing more than $500 million across partnerships in North America and Europe. Earlier, he spent four years at the venture capital firm Adler & Company and began his career at Bain & Company. Steve has served as a director of numerous public and private companies, including Active Power.

Steve has a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, and a J.D. from Harvard University.
